Make Wii Sensor bar, Resistor help?
I have a projector and need a wireless sensor bar, bought one... not strong enough. I bought 25 5mm IR LEDs and come with free resistors, knowing that you need then.. i dont know how to use them. Says comes with 25 resistors for 5V DC and 25 resistors for 12V DC. I want to have it plugged into the wall so doesnt suck batteries. I have a 5.4V 500ma transformer, how would i wire it so there is 8 or 10 IR lights in series? where will i need to put the resistors and how many?
Answer:
Your transformer is close enough on voltage (a 5 volt battery does not put out exactly 5 volts and it changes over time). The problem may be the current (or power depending on how you look at it). You probably need more electrical circuit design than I can provide. Sounds like a fun project. Good luck
